CERP – European Confederation of Public Relations

The Confédération Européenne des Relations Publiques (short CERP) represented a pan-European cross- governing body, the national public relations associations and societies. Simultaneously, the CERP is a subsidiary organization of the internationally oriented umbrella organization Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. The headquarters of the CERP is located in Brussels. The current president of the organization is Roberto Zangrandi, chairman of ENEL European affairs offices in Brussels. Zangrandi was elected at the CERP - General on 21 June 2008 in London as President.

History and codes

The CERP was founded in 1959 by PR practitioners from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

On 11 May 1965, the CERP together with the International Public Relations Association ( IPRA ) in Athens the code d' Athénes, a moral code, the international should apply to all members in subordinate, national practitioner associations decided. Initiator and author of the Code was Lucien mattress, a founding member of the CERP.

As Europe's valid code of professional conduct in the public relations of the Code de Lisbonne was decided on April 16, 1978 to the General Assembly of the CERP in Lisbon. This has as a pan-European code of all 18 national societies ( from 15 European countries ) who are members of the CERP, validity
