Cerre-lès-Noroy

Cerre -lès- Noroy is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Cerre -lès- Noroy situated at an altitude of 330 m above sea level, about 12 km east of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the central part of the department, in a wide basin at the eastern foot of the altitude from Champ Fleury.

The area of ​​9.96 km ² municipal area comprises a section in the rolling countryside between the basin of Vesoul in the west and the level of Lure in the east. The central part of the area occupied by the basin of the Ruisseau de l' Etang, which is on average 320 m and a width of about two kilometers. It is used primarily for agricultural purposes. The two rivers, the Ruisseau de l' Etang and its tributary Ruisseau de Prays belong topographically to the catchment area of the Linotte. The stream trickles but south of the village.

Is flanked by the well Cerre of ridges, which are predominantly forested: In the east of Mont de Cerre rises in the west of Champ Fleury, on the 438 meters, the highest point of Cerre -lès- Noroy is achieved. To the south, the municipality's area extends over a saddle in the forest regions of Bois du Replan, Bois de l' Engorgié and Bois de la Combe Sedera and to the edge of the basin of Vallerois. In geological- tectonic respects the trough of Cerre consists of an alternation of sandy- marly and calcareous sediments that were deposited during the Lias ( Lower Jurassic ). The highs are constructed of a durable layer of chalk of the middle Jurassic period.

Neighboring communities of Cerre -lès- Noroy are Noroy -le- Bourg in the west and north, Autrey- lès- Cerre and Borey in the east and Vallerois -le- Bois in the south.

History

Is first mentioned Cerre in 1164, in a document of the archbishops of Besançon. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. Together with the Franche -Comté Cerre came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today Cerre -lès- Noroy is a member of the 12 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes des Grands Bois.

Attractions

The church of Saint -Maurice in 1766 newly built and has a gothic cross for processions, a statue of Saint Maurice ( 16-17. Century) and furnishings from the 18th century. At the eastern entrance to the village there is a small castle. Also worth seeing is the fountain of Cerre -lès- Noroy are: the Fontaine de l' Église (1801 built ) with a large, semi-circular pool of water, the Fontaine d' Au Pont (1870 ) and the Fontaine de la Hye (1884 ).

Population

With 220 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Cerre -lès- Noroy is one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881 362 persons were still counted ), only small fluctuations were recorded since the early 1960s. In recent years, was again a slight increase in population.

Economy and infrastructure

Cerre -lès- Noroy was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. The water power of the Ruisseau de l' Etang was formerly used for the operation of a mill. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and in the agglomeration Vesoul.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Noroy -le- Bourg to Vallerois -le -Bois. Another road connection with Autrey- lès- Cerre.
