Cerva CE.43 Guépard

The Cerva CE.43 Guépard (French for: Cheetah ) is a process developed in the 1970s vier-/fünfsitziges monoplane touring aircraft of the French company Cerva.

Design and development

The aircraft is an all-metal version of the Wassmer WA.4/21. The WA.4/21-Prototyp first flew in March 1967 and was a tubular steel construction with a fabric-covered fuselage and a wing sperrholzbeplankten. Wassmer decided, along with Siren SA to build an alternative all-metal version (the joint venture known as the Consortium Européen de Réalisation et d' Avions de Ventes ( CERVA ) ). The two aircraft have identical dimensions, the new all-metal version is heavier. The prototype of the Guépard first flew on 18 May 1971., The airplane received on June 1, 1972 his approval, and the French government ordered then five aircraft for the Service de la Formation Aéronautique (SFA ) and 18 aircraft for the Centre D ' Essais en Vol ( CEV). First deliveries to private customers followed in 1975, and until the end of production in 1976, 43 aircraft were produced, some of which have been modernized and equipped with a three-blade propeller.

Later, two versions have been developed that Cerva CE.44 couguar with a 285 -hp (213 -kW ) Continental Tiara motor and Cerva CE.45 Léopard with a 310 -hp (231 -kW ) Avco - Lycoming TIO -540 engine. Their development was stopped in 1977, as Wassmers company went bankrupt.
