Cerveza Quilmes

The Cerveceria y Malteria Quilmes is an Argentine Brewery.

It was founded Cerveceria Quilmes in 1888 in the city of Quilmes ( Buenos Aires Province ) by Otto Bemberg, a German immigrant. Already in the 1920s, Quilmes was the most popular beer in Buenos Aires. Today, the Quilmes brewery is the most commercially successful of Argentina.

The beer brand Quilmes, which is the best selling among several other products under the control of the brewery is being advertised by the company as a national symbol: The labels are in similar colors as the flag of Argentina - blue and white ( the flag colors are light blue and white ) - held, Quilmes is also a major sponsor of the Argentine national soccer team. The brewery is also sponsor of the football club Quilmes AC.

Locations of Quilmes Quilmes brewery currently, Zárate, Tres Arroyos, Corrientes, San Miguel de Tucuman and Mendoza. The main export countries are Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, USA, Spain, France, Great Britain and Italy. About 17 million hectoliters of beer and 8 million hectoliters of soft drinks are sold every year.

Cerveza Quilmes Quilmes Industrial SA is of the ( Quinsa ) controls, a Luxembourg-registered holding company, which is also franchisee of PepsiCo in Argentina and Uruguay. Quinsa owns 30% of the brewery, but 53% of the voting rights.

In April 2006, the Brazilian company AmBev bought 37.5% of Quilmes SA, which in turn control of the trademarks of AmBev - such as the well-known beer brand " Brahma " - received in Argentina.
