Cervical lymph nodes

As cervical lymph nodes ( lymph cervical, cervical lymph nodes) are referred to the nearby lymph nodes in the neck.

Man

In humans, three lymph node groups are distinguished.

The superficial cervical lymph nodes ( lymph superficial cervical ) are located on the side of the neck along the external jugular vein in the sternocleidomastoid muscle to the anterior border of the trapezius muscle. They stand with the deep cervical lymph nodes in conjunction.

The deep cervical lymph nodes ( lymph deep cervical ) lie along the carotid artery under the sternocleidomastoid muscle. You are close to an organ upstream more lymph nodes: the thyroid lymph nodes ( lymph thyroidei ), the lymph and the lymph pretracheales paratracheal.

The anterior cervical lymph nodes ( lymph cervical anterior ) are variable, that is, not in each individual trained. They are located at the front of the neck larynx and trachea.

Pets

Comparative- anatomical two groups of lymph nodes (so-called " Lymphzentren " ) are distinguished in the Veterinary Anatomy: The superficial ( Lymphocentrum cervical superficial ) and deep Halslymphzentrum ( Lymphocentrum cervical profundum ).

The superficial Halslymphzentrum consists of the superficial cervical lymph nodes ( lymph superficial cervical ). These are also known as Buglymphknoten and are located in front of the shoulder joint under the musculus omotransversarius. You are palpable through this muscle in horses, cattle, dogs and cats lean. In pigs and cats they are called lymph cervical superficial dorsal because besides the Buglymphknoten yet another location for neck bottom group ( lymph cervical superficial ventral ) on the bottom edge of the musculus brachiocephalic, in pigs also an intermediate group ( lymph cervical superficial medii ) are medial to the brachiocephalic muscle trained.

The deep Halslymphzentrum consists of the deep cervical lymph nodes ( lymph deep cervical ) lying along the neck portion of the trachea. They are in three groups: divides the front deep ( deep cervical lymph cranial ), middle ( deep cervical lymph medii ) and the posterior deep cervical lymph nodes ( lymph caudal deep cervical ). In dogs, they can not constant, in cats, sheep and goats are mostly missing the front and center, in pigs the middle.
