Cerys Matthews

Cerys Matthews Elizabeth ( born April 11, 1969 in Cardiff ) is a British singer and songwriter who was known primarily as a singer of the band Catatonia.

Life and career

Matthews was born in Cardiff and grew up in Swansea and Pembrokeshire. Later she moved back to Cardiff, where she met Mark Roberts and together in 1992 formed the band Catatonia with him. Together with Tom Jones took on the song Baby, It's Cold Outside for his album Reload. After the band dissolved in 2001, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and took there her debut solo album Cockahoop on.
