Cesko Selo ( Serbian Cyrillic Чешко Село ) is a village in the Serbian municipality of Bela Crkva ( White German churches). It is located in the South Banat District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina. According to the census in 2002, the village has 46 inhabitants ( in the census of 1991, there were 58 inhabitants). The name means " Czech Village".

History

Cesko Selo is the smallest village in the municipality of Bela Crkva. In 1415 the town was mentioned for the first time under the name " Abel ", then to repair in 1833 no more. He is also known under the name Fabijan ( Фабијан ).

The present church in the Gothic Revival style, was built in the period between 1900 and 10 August 1901. It is dedicated to St. John Nepomuk, which is celebrated every year on May 16.

Geography

Cesko Selo is geographically well located, however there were no long paved road. This was decisive for the development and survival of small Banat settlement. Access to the village is via a branch in Crvena Crkva on the track Bela Crkva, Vršac. In the immediate vicinity there is an airfield.

Population

The area of ​​the district is 217 hectares. The village has 21 houses and 16 households. He has 46 inhabitants, the population growth has a negative trend.

In the settlement of about 38 full -term residents. The average age of residents is 46.9 years ( 44.8 for men, 49.4 for women). There are 16 households in which live an average of 2,88 people.

Cesko Selo is the only place in Vojvodina and in the whole of Serbia, are the majority in which according to the 2002 census, Czechs.
