Cessna 140

The Cessna 120 was a light aircraft from the American manufacturer Cessna, which from 1945 to 1951 with a number of 7,664 (more than 2000 Cessna 120 and Cessna 140 more than 5000 ) was built.

She was the original model of all single-engine Cessna to the present time, and was designed as a simple and inexpensive aircraft that should be the dissemination of aviation.

The first flight of all-metal cabin shoulder Deckers with fabric- covered wings place on 28 June 1945. The Cessna 140 was the improved (luxury) version of the Cessna 120 and flew in 1946 for the first time. She had the same drive, but additionally flaps buoyancy aid, additional side window and a complete electrical system, which allowed to retrofit to request a radio or navigation equipment, landing lights, starter and an additional fuel pump.

The Cessna 140A was produced towards the end of the series in the years 1949/1950. They existed only to the Continental C90 engine with 67 kW (90 hp). Cessna 140A models are 140 and 120 models easily distinguished from the others by the simple Cessna wing support. For the other models, however, there is a double V-shaped support. Another distinguishing feature is the use of aluminum as the wing material. Despite these and other improvements, the production of the series 140 began to falter, and the number of built 140A comprised only 7 percent of the total production of 120 series / 140.
