Cessnock, New South Wales

Cessnock is a city in the Australian state of New South Wales and is located in the Hunter Valley, about 150 km north of Sydney and 50 km west of Newcastle at about 100 m altitude.

The double - Cessnock community Bellingen has 18 316 inhabitants. The city was named after Cessnock Castle in Ayreshire, Scotland from an early settler.

After the first coal mine was opened in 1891, certain of the 20th century a long time the setting on the largest coal deposits in New South Wales, the fate of the city.
