Cesson-Sévigné

Chantepie is a municipality in the department of Ille -et -Vilaine in the Brittany region in northwestern France.

The location of the municipality Chantepie in the catchment area of Rennes, owes the city a strong population growth. In the early 1960s, only about 3,500 people lived in the village. By the end of the millennium, the population had more than quadrupled. Currently there are 15,413 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Twinning

Chantepie maintains partnerships with German cities Waltrop in the northern Ruhr area and the Irish town of Carrick-on- Shannon.
