Cesta změny

Cesta změny (CZ) (Way of Change ) was a small Czech liberal political party. Chairman of the party was Jiří Lobkowicz, his secretary Josef Brož.

The party was created in late 2001 from the center of the movement Děkujeme, odejděte ( Thank you, stand back ). Even before the founding of it came from the organizers clashes that led to the withdrawal of Monika Pajerová and their supporters. This then formed the party Naděje (Hope).

In the elections in the Czech Parliament in June 2002, the party could not prevail and received 0.27 percent of votes. In the elections to the Senate in the fall of 2002 in the electoral district of Prague 1 Mejstřík Martin was elected, who took to the party without a party. In the Czech Republic, the party is still active in 5 municipalities.

In the first elections to the European Parliament in June 2004, the party presented a joint list of candidates with the Unie svobody - demokratická unie, Liberální reformní strana and ODA under the name Unie liberálních domokratů (Union of Liberal Democrats ). The UPD received 1.69 percent of votes, not enough for a seat in the European Parliament.

In the Senate elections in November 2004 CZ nominated as a candidate, Daniel Kroupa and Marian Páleník, neither of which was able to prevail. Furthermore, the party supported a number of independent candidates, including Karl Fürst zu Schwarzenberg ( Karel Schwarzenberg ), who moved as a single one in the Senate.

CZ is a founding member of the European Democratic Party ( European Democratic Party, EDP), founded in 2004, and Brussels, which together with European Liberal Democratic and Reform Party (European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party, ELDR), the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe ( Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, ALDE ) form.
