Čestmír Vycpálek

Čestmír Vycpálek ( born May 15, 1921 in Prague; † 5 May 2002, Palermo) was Czech football player and coach. He was uncle of coach Zdeněk Zeman.

Career

As a player

Vycpálek right winger, played 1939/40, for Slavia Prague. During the season 1940/41 he moved to SK Židenice. In the course of the game year 1941/42, he went back to Slavia, for which he made ​​a total of 178 games and scored 115 goals. With Slavia Vycpálek was in the game 1939 /40, 1940/41, 1941/42 and 1942/43, Master of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. 1943, Vycpálek for Slovak club AC Nitra.

Vycpálek played three times for the selection of Bohemia in games against Moravia, scoring two goals.

As a coach

In Parma already active as a player-coach, Vycpálek worked after the end of his playing career as coach of Palermo, as well as the smaller clubs U.S. Siracusa, AC Marzotto Valdagno, Juve Bagheria and GS Mazara.

In 1970 he was among other things by the help of his friend Giampiero Boniperti a job as a youth coach at Juventus. In 1971 when Armando Picchi surprisingly died Čestmír Vycpálek became head coach. 1971/72 and 1972/73, he won the Italian championship, the Scudetto. After the 1973/74 season Vycpálek ended his coaching career.

Death

Čestmír Vycpálek died on the morning of May 5, 2002, the date on which Juventus was the 26th time Italian soccer champions, in Palermo.
