Chaeresilaus

Chairesilaos ( ancient Greek Χαιρησίλαος ) is a person of Greek mythology.

He appears only in the literature Pausanias in connection with the founding myth of the polis Tanagra. Chairesilaos is the son and grandson of the Iasios Eleuther, which in turn is presented as the son of the god Apollo with the Aithusa, a daughter of the god Poseidon. The son of Chairesilaos is the founder Tanagras Poimandros, who named the city after his wife Tanagra.

Karl pond excludes information in Plutarch to the family tree of Poimandros that Chairesilaos is also the grandfather of the Ephippus and thus grandfather of the Trojan fighter Akestor.
