Chairlift (band)

Chairlift ( to German: Chairlift ) is an American electropop band.

Band History

Caroline Polachek, who comes as the other band members from Boulder, Colorado, 2005 was a singer of a band, in which also starred Patrick Wimberly. The band broke up, and Polachek began working with Aaron Pfenning as a background singer. The two formed a duo Chairlift, and when they moved from studying reasons to New York City, they met there by chance again Wimberly, who was the third member of the band.

In 2007 they released their debut single Evident Utensil. MGMT released a remix thereof, and Chairlift also appeared along with the duo. The debut album Does You Inspire You was released the following year. It helped Chairlift to a contract with Columbia Records, the album newly released and marketed in Europe.
