Chakram

The Chakram (from Sanskrit: चक्र, cakra n, nominative singular cakraṃ, dt: "circle" or "wheel" ) is a throwing weapon that was used in India. It consists of a flat metal ring having a sharp outer edge 12 to 30 cm in diameter.

The earliest references to this weapon come from the Ramayana and Mahabharata periods (ie, around 400 BC - 400 AD). She was of Indian soldiers - mostly Sikhs - used.

The Chakram has a range of 40 to 50 meters. Due to the aerodynamic shape is not sensitive to side winds in flight. The known as sports equipment frisbees (especially the annular also Aerobies ) have similar flight characteristics.
