Champéry

Champéry is a municipality in the district of Monthey in the French speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland at the end of the Val d' Illiez.

The resort is situated in Valais at 1,050 m above sea level. M. at the foot of the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches in the heart of the Portes du Soleil.

Champéry is one of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland. With the opening of the hotel " Dents du Midi " in 1857, tourism increased its beginning here.

Champéry has over 100 km of ski runs with 1 cable car, 14 chairlifts and 26 drag lifts after Planachaux and Pointe -des- Mosettes, Pauvre - Condie and Pas-de- Condie. Champéry is part of the cross-border Portes du Soleil, which has about 650 km of ski runs with just one pass. From Champéry / Planachaux the Pas de Chavanette leads to the French ski resort of Avoriaz.
