Channarong Ratanaseangsuang

Channarong Ratanaseangsuang ( Thai: ชาญ ณรงค์ รัตน แสง สรวง; b. 1939 ) is a former Thai badminton player who competed for Canada later.

Sporting career

In his home country he won in 1961 with the Thai Championships in mixed doubles with Prathin Pattabongse and in the men's singles. In the same year he also won the title in the men's singles at the Southeast Asia Games.

In Thomas Cup 1961, he lost with the Thai team the final against Indonesia and became Vice World Champion team. 1964 Thailand took third place in the Thomas Cup. In 1963 he was defeated at the All England in the final against Erland Kops. In the open tops USA Championships he won in 1964 in the men's singles and mixed with Margaret Barrand. In 1968 he was again in the individual successfully.

In Canada he won in 1974, 1975 and 1976, the double rating with Raphi Kanchanaraphi and acted as a playing coach for Canada at the Thomas Cup in 1970, 1973 and 1976.
