Headwaters of Chapeauroux
The Chapeauroux is a river in France, which runs in the Languedoc- Roussillon region, mainly in the Lozere department. It rises in the Margeride, in the municipality of Estables, just north of the peak signal de Randon. It drains initially in a westerly direction, then turns but on the north, passes the same place Chapeauroux, in the municipality of Saint -Bonnet -de- Montauroux, then exceeds equal to the border with the neighboring department of Haute- Loire in the Auvergne region and ends after a total of 56 kilometers, just across the border, in the municipality of Saint- Christophe- d'Allier as left tributary of the Allier. In the estuary of the Chapeauroux crosses under even the same Viaduc de Chapeauroux the Cevennenbahn.
