Character Map

The character table in the operating system is an integrated program that allows the viewing of all the characters of all the installed fonts, and simply copying them into other programs.

The file name of the character table on Windows is charmap.exe, this executable file is located in the Windows directory (usually C: \ Windows), in newer versions of Windows in the System32 subdirectory ( say, for example, C: \ Windows \ System32).

Also, in most other operating systems, there are signs tables. Under the GNOME graphical interface for the GNU / Linux operating system, the character table is often gucharmap via Applications → Accessories → Character Map, or via the command call in the Execute dialog or in a terminal window accessible. Although this functionality is part of GNOME, but an installation of the desktop is not necessary for this, it is sufficient to have the program installed gucharmap.

On Mac OS X a character table via the menu item " character palette " of the keyboard menus can be accessed, which you can view via System Preferences from the menu bar.
