Charcot's cholangitis triad

The Charcot's triad II referred to in internal medicine a symptom complex of pain in the right upper abdomen, fever and jaundice (icterus). During the joint occurrence of these three symptoms of acute purulent inflammation of the bile ducts ( cholangitis ) is very likely.

The Charcot's triad gets its name from the French neurologist Jean -Martin Charcot ( 1825-1893 ).
