Chargé d'affaires

As a business support ( chargé d' affaires ) are in diplomatic parlance, at least since the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and the Aachen Protocol of 1818, generally subordinated representative designated in interstate traffic. In this context, the chargé are to be classified within the diplomatic rank order among the ambassadors and envoys.

Today is known as charge d'affaires in particular the Deputy Head of Mission in the line of the Embassy during his absence, for example due to the holiday. It is therefore usually the Permanent Representative of the Ambassador, such as in Washington, the senior envoy. To this end, he must be notified as such by the Government of the host country.
