Charles Addams

Charles Samuel Addams ( January 7, 1912 in Westfield, New Jersey, † September 29, 1988 in New York) was an American cartoonist.

Life

He has published in the 1930s to the 1980s regular cartoons in The New Yorker magazine. These included the Addams Family. Thanks to its very morbid sense of humor, he succeeded in the series to lead to great success. He took a personal interest for weapons and torture experiments in order to draw these objects realistically can. The frequently-used accusation that he was crazy or hate children was wrong: Addams loved children and drew them like "happy" in his caricatures.

Addams drew already in his school days, comics about his eponymous self Addams Family. In the film adaptation of the series, he had big say.
