Charles Chilton Moore

Charles Chilton Moore ( * 1837, † February 7, 1906 ) was an American civil rights activist and publisher. As the voice of atheism He achieved fame for his efforts against the domination of religion.

Life

Moore was a grandson of Religionsrefomers Barton W. Stone and was first in its tradition preacher. During this activity, he recognized by his deep knowledge of Christianity whose insurmountable contradictions. In 1884 he founded the magazine Bluegrass Blade, which he edited from then. His courage to oppose the religion and the Bible paid Moore with prison sentences. He stood up for free speech and the rights of women.
