Charles Darwin Foundation

The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands ( CDF ) is an international non-governmental organization with the aim of promoting the research and protection of the Galápagos Islands.

CDF is working on the Galapagos Islands natural biologically under a special regulation of the Ecuadorian government. The organization is part of a network of local actors and works closely with the Galapagos National Park Service ( GNPS ) together.

The CDF was established in 1959 with the help of IUCN, UNESCO, and conservationists around the world under Belgian law. Scientists, volunteers and students from around the world to support the work of the CDF, but are 90 percent of the board Ecuadorians.
