Charles Edward Merriam

Charles Edward Merriam (* November 15, 1874 in Hopkinton, Iowa; † January 8, 1953 in Rockville, Maryland ) was a professor of political science at the University of Chicago and co-founder of the - strictly individualistic previous - behaviorist research approach, also called Behavioralism. He is also expected to so-called Chicago School.

Merriam was later adviser to the U.S. President Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
