Charles Robert Goldberg, ( born April 15, 1911 in Odessa, Ukraine now, † April 16, 1986 in Glendale, Wisconsin ), Nick Name: " Buckets " was an American football player. He has played on the position of the guard in the National Football League ( NFL).

Career

Goldberg was born in Russia but grew up in the U.S., after his parents had emigrated. Goldberg received in 1930 a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin -Madison, and came into their American football team at different positions are used. In 1933 he joined the Green Bay Packers in the NFL and was stationed there in the early years as a running back and was able to achieve 42 points in his first season. Goldberg played but mainly in the offensive line and was used in the course of his career mainly to places of block. Goldberg was three times to win the NFL Championship with the Packers. 1938 against the New York Giants at 23:17, again in 1939 against the Giants with 27:0 and 1944, the Giants were beaten with 14:7 again. 1945 after 120 games in the NFL ended Goldberg 's career. After his career, he operated a restaurant.

Honors

Goldberg is a member of the NFL 1930s All- Decade Team, in the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame, in the All- Time Team the Packers since 1993 and in the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
