Charles H. Aldrich

Charles Henry Aldrich ( born August 28, 1850, LaGrange County, Indiana, † April 13, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois) was an American lawyer and United States Solicitor General.

Biography

After school he studied at the University of Michigan and acquired there in 1875 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). After his admission to the bar in Indiana in 1875, he initially worked as a lawyer at the law firm Coombs, Morris & Bell before after admission to the bar in Illinois, a partner of the law firm Aldrich, Payne & Defrees he was in 1876.

In March 1892 Charles Aldrich, who was a member of the Republican Party, was appointed by President Benjamin Harrison to the Solicitor General. So he took to April 1893 the third rank of the hierarchy in the Ministry of Justice of the United States.

Aldrich was also a member of several legal professional associations such as the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and the temporary president of the Chicago Law Club.
