Charles Hallahan

Charles John Hallahan ( born July 29, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, † November 25, 1997 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American film and theater actor.

Life

Charles Hallahan, had Irish ancestry, grew up in Philadelphia, and graduated in 1971 from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Only one year later, in 1972, he obtained his degree in Theatre Studies at Temple University. After five years he had been in smaller theaters on the stage, Hallahan moved in 1977 to Los Angeles to begin his acting career there. In 1972 he stood in the theater adaptation Cyrano de Bergerac for the first time on camera.

Halla Hans career was limited to a few exceptions to guest appearances on television series. One of his most prominent television roles was that of the Captains Charles Devane in the crime drama Hunter, he in seven episodes between 1986 and 1991, embodied. In addition, he was committed from 1993 to 1994 for 14 episodes of the series Grace. 1997 was Hallahan in the disaster movie Dante 's Peak in front of the camera, which was to be his best-known feature film.

It should be one of his last appearances before the camera, as he succumbed to a heart attack in November 1997, at the age of 54 years. Shortly before, a guest appearance on the television series Star Trek it was: Deep Space Nine was offered, the now Nick Tate took over. His body was cremated and the ashes scattered in the port of Cobh (Ireland).

He left behind his wife Barbara Gryboski, with whom he had been married since 21 May 1983 and their two children.
