Charles Loring Jackson

Charles Loring Jackson ( born April 4, 1845 in Boston, † October 31, 1935 ) was an American chemist. He brought the Organic Chemistry from Germany to the USA.

After he graduated from Harvard College in 1867, he became an assistant lecturer there. In the early 1870s he continued his studies at the University of Heidelberg continues with Robert Bunsen and August Wilhelm von Hofmann. In 1875 he returned to Harvard.

By 1895, he worked with his students FB Gallivan of derivatives of unsymmetrical Tribrombenzole.
