Charles M. Lieber

Charles M. Lieber ( born April 9, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American chemist and one of the leading scientist in the field of nanotechnology at Harvard University.

Dear was at Franklin and Marshall College and graduated with honors in chemistry. After his doctoral studies at Stanford University and postdoctoral research at the California Institute of Technology, he went in 1987 as an assistant professor at Columbia University. Dear more than 300 scientific publications, has co-authored, is the holder of 25 U.S. patents and founder of Nanosys.

Furthermore Dear elected member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Institute of Physics and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

In 2011, Lieber was considered as the leading chemists worldwide, as for the influence of his publications.
