Charles Malo François Lameth

Charles Malo François, comte de Lameth ( born October 5, 1757 Paris, † December 28, 1832 ) was a French general.

He was the son of the French Field Marshal Louis Charles de Lameth (1723-1761) and his wife Therese de Broglie, daughter of the French Marshal François -Marie de Broglie.

Lameth took part in the North American War of Independence, commanded a cavalry regiment after his return, was elected by the nobility in the National Assembly and became the same for a constitution and reforms.

In the campaign of 1792 he commanded a cavalry division. Since he was the dethronement of the king opposed and fought against the Jacobins, he was arrested after 10 August 1792 and held captive 27 days, went on to Hamburg where he founded a house plot, and only came back to France in 1800.

In 1809 he was a Major General Governor of Würzburg, 1810 by the northern Spanish port city Santoña. 1827 elected deputies, he died on 28 December 1832.

His brother was Alexandre- Théodore -Victor de Lameth.
