Action

The goofy Joe LoMonaco is the owner of Blue Star, a floating casino, but which yields no profit. Because he fails to sink the ship in order to collect the insurance, he concocts together with his lawyer Morris a plan. He announces his intention to sell the ship for 3 million pounds, while Morris is looking for someone who sells him a ship in exactly the same design for 5 million. Morris would then not complete the purchase contract, of course. But the plan fails because both did not expect the crafty deceiver Charleston. This develops a plan to facilitate LoMonaco to two million.

To this end, he lets the Scotland Yard Inspector Watkins initially a painting by Paul Gauguin steal, and makes it look as if LoMonaco the image. So he makes sure that the police did not bothered him, but help is on the contrary.

After several smaller preparatory ripoffs it comes to performing the actual coups: Charleston occurs as a wealthy Brazilian who financed a show in a small theater in London. There he meets with LoMonaco and Morris. He buys LoMonaco the ship from, and is persuaded that it would have been buried in a fictional war him then. Since the insured amount is 7 million eventually buys the ship Morris expensive back when he had sold it.

Finally LoMonaco is also arrested by Watkins for the theft of the painting.

Reviews

" A wily crooks who swindled the involuntary help of a Scotland Yard inspector, and a greedy millionaire with dubious business practices try to dupe each other. Despite a decent story only undemanding and sometimes exhilarating caper comedy. "

" Bud Spencer as Charleston, despite a decent story and pleasing players without his usual partner Terence Hill only half as much charisma to the audience as a duet with this. "
