Chassis Air Guide

An Air Guide is an air intake, which is mounted in a computer chassis directly above the processor.

Thus, the cooler ambient air is directly drawn in and passed through the processor heat sink. The heated air is released into the interior of the housing and there should be aspirated from a PSU fan or system fan.

This means that the processor fan does not have to turn as fast (and therefore quieter ), provided some manufacturers " Air Guide " with an additional fan.

Was specified the " Air Guide " in May 2002 by Intel. He is a prerequisite for a " Thermally Advanced Chassis ".

The heat problem solved other manufacturers in their own way: By not suck in the air, but give directly via a port from the processor to the outside, they achieve better cooling with less noise.
