Château de Brosse

The Brosse Castle is a former attachment to the territory of the municipality Chaillac, formerly located in the County of Marche, now in the department of Indre, south-east of the actual location. She was in the Middle Ages the center of viscounty Brosse.

The castle was built in the 10th century by Geraud, Viscount of Limoges and husband of Rothilde de Brosse, on a promontory and burned during the Hundred Years' War by the British.

From the castle there are only the round donjon from the 13th century, the towers flanking him, which date from the 15th century, as well as the surrounding walls, also from the 13th century. The castle has been added to the list of Monuments historiques 1935.
