History

Born in Galway in 1669 John Lynch came under the flight of the Wild Geese to France. The Flight of the Wild Geese refers to the emigration of Irish Jacobin army under the command of Patrick Sarsfield from Ireland to France, as agreed in the Treaty of Limerick on October 3, 1691. In Bordeaux, John Lynch settled as a trader of textiles, wool and leather, and married Guillemette Constant. In 1710 John Lynch was naturalized as a Frenchman, and called himself Jean Lynch.

His son, Thomas -Michel married in 1740 Elizabeth Drouillard. When the father of Elisabeth, Pierre Drouillard died in 1749, his daughter inherited the half of the land ownership Bourdieu de BATGES and paid the widow of Pierre the sum of 42,000 livres to come in the exclusive possession. This year represents the establishment of Château Lynch. Later he earned both lands for the expansion of Château Lynch. Château Dauzac also was the property of the Lynch family. On the occasion of the wedding of his fun-loving and politically interested son Jean- Baptiste in 1779 was Thomas -Michel possession on. Since this did not understand efficiently manage the estate, Jean -Baptiste was soon off the tour of the estate to his brother Michel. Michel Lynch was responsible for the estate Château Lynch until 1824. After the death of Jean -Baptiste Lynch in 1835 the estate was divided Lynch. Named after the hamlet Moussas Château Lynch - Moussa was probably due to Vasquez, who is listed in 1855 during the held possessive.

In 1919, Jean Castéja acquired the run-down estate. But only Émile Castéja focused in 1969 on the restoration of the vineyards and the wine cellar. The first vintages under his leadership were expanded in the neighboring Château Bateilley.
