Château Saint-Pierre

The Château Saint- Pierre is a less known vineyard of Bordeaux. Since the classification of 1855, the winery is classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé (fourth level of classification ). Château Saint -Pierre has a bestockte surface of 17 ha, which produces only red wine of Saint-Julien appellation. The winery is run at the time of Jean -Louis Triaud, the son of Henri Martin.

It is located in Saint -Julien- Beychevelle. The estate is quite small with about 17 acres. 70 % of the area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The farm produces about 60,000 bottles of wine in middle age. The mean age of the vines is 40 years. The wine remains for 12 months in oak barrels, which are replaced every year in half.

Among the vintages of Saint- Pierre, the wines protrude from 2001 ( Wine Rating: 88-90 PP ), 2000 (89 PP) and 1990 (90 pp) out.

Early 1980s, Henri Martin, the manor house combined with the current vineyard, which formerly belonged to the wine merchant M. van den Bussche from the Belgian town of Antwerp. Château Saint -Pierre is accompanied and advised by the oenologist Jacques Boissenot and his son Eric.
