Châteauvert

Châteauvert ( Provençal Castèuverd or Castel- Verd ) is a commune of 137 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Var department in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.

Geography

The few houses of the small community Châteauvert are set in a small valley through which flows the Argens to the Transfiguration Church, the parish church of the village.

History

Châteauvert was first mentioned in 1002 " De castello qui dicitur Verus ", then in 1235 from Castrum Viridum the speech, which was one of the domination of the bishops of Marseilles.
