Chatturat District

Amphoe Chatturat ( Thai: อำเภอ จัตุรัส ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Chaiyaphum. The Chaiyaphum Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are from north clockwise starting: the Amphoe Ban Khwao, Noen Sa -nga Province Chaiyaphum, Phra Thong Kham and Dan Khun Thot of Nakhon Ratchasima, and Amphoe Bamnet Narong, Sap Yai and Nong Bua Rawe, again belonging to Chaiyaphum.

Chatturat is flat. In Tambon Lahaan is the dam Don La Nam.

History

Phraya Narin Songkhram founded Chatturat with emigrants from Vientiane in today's Tambon Ho Cho, Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. 1826 moved Phraya Narin Songkhram settlement in the fertile area in the present province of Chaiyaphum.

Management

Amphoe Chatturat is ( tambon) divided into nine municipalities, which in turn consist of 115 villages ( Muban ).

There are also two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chatturat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จัตุรัส ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Kok,
  • Nong Bua Khok ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองบัว โคก ) consists of parts of the tambon Nong Bua Khok.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
