Chavdar Yankov

Chavdar Jankow [ tʃavdar jankɔf ], Bulgarian Чавдар Янков, Eng. Transcription: Chavdar Yankov, scientific. Transliteration: Çavdar Yankov, ( born March 29, 1984 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian football player.

Club career

Chavdar Jankow is considered one of the greatest talents of the Bulgarian football. After the departure of long-time midfield director Nebojša Krupnikovic to league rivals Arminia Bielefeld, the question presented by the creative moment in the game Hannover 96 The solution should be Jankow, the then- 96 manager Ilja Kaenzig at the beginning of the season 2005/ 06 for first borrowing one year.

Side Hannover 96, inter alia, Olympique Marseille, the ACF Florence and Espanyol Barcelona were interested in the Bulgarians. Previously, he played for the Bulgarian club Slawia Sofia.

Although Jankow the high expectations could not initially meet, and in particular had difficulties to succeed in offensive combat, the loan contract was extended for another year in February 2006. The 96- coach Ewald Lienen and later Peter Neururer estimated Jankows tactical discipline and its strengths on the defensive. After the end of the era Neurer put his successor Dieter Hecking Jankow defensive midfielder in front of the defense, where he played his best ever season for Hannover 96. In May 2007, the Bulgarian signed a four -year contract in Hanover. In the following two seasons Jankow denied due to multiple knee injuries and a broken metatarsal, only eight Bundesliga appearances for Hannover and was last used in the second team in the Regionalliga Nord.

For the 2009/2010 season Jankow is loaned out to second division MSV Duisburg. He is considered a transfer target of MSV coach Peter Neururer, who has already worked in Hannover with him, and, according to the departure of Cédric Makiadi close the gap in the central midfield.

During the winter break of the season 2009/10 he was then fired from MSV coach Milan Šašić and returned to Hannover 96. On 12 January 2010 Jankow moved to the Ukraine to Metalurg Donetsk, which awarded him in the summer of 2010 for FC Rostov.

Since the summer of 2012 Jankow plays in his youth club Slawia Sofia again.

National

Chavdar Jankow has played 31 caps for Bulgaria, where he was able to achieve five goals (as of 1 November 2008).
