Chem Widhya

Chem Widhya (December 6, 1958 in Phnom Penh ) is an Cambodian diplomat.

Widhya is one of the sons of former Cambodian Minister of Justice Chem Snguon. He studied at the Institute of International Relations in Potsdam- Babelsberg and graduated magna cum laude. In the following years he was a close associate of Prime Minister Hun Sen. He was inducted into the diplomatic service in 1993. From 1994 to 2003 he represented Cambodia in the ASEAN and the ARFSON, from 2004. At the United Nations in New York and next to it since 2005 as Ambassador to Canada In 2007, he was transferred as Ambassador to Germany. Widhya is married, has three children and speaks French, English, German, Russian and Spanish.

In the meantime, he practiced from 1997 from the office of Cambodian foreign minister.

As of February 19, 2014 Thai Chun is the new ambassador of Cambodia in Germany.
