Chen Hong (actress)

Chen Hong (Chinese陈红/陈红, Pinyin Chén Hong, born December 13, 1968 in Jiangxi, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese actress and film producer.

Chen Hong began her artistic career as a student, worked as a student already in several classic films with and established itself as a rising star. After completing her studies, she played in a variety of diverse film and television productions, with different genres. The actress portrayed a wide repertoire more diverse roles - from a naïve girl, about a rebel to an athletic martial-arts Charakterin.

She was chosen by the Chinese public in the selection of the four most popular actresses in the country in 1993. She was also included in the list of the most sensational Asian actresses in 1995 in Singapore and appointed by the All-China Women's Federation as Ambassador for Chinese women in 2002.

She is married to film director Chen Kaige.
