Cheng Pu

Cheng Pu (Chinese程 普, Pinyin Chéng Pǔ; * 2nd century; † 3rd century ) was a general of the Wu dynasty under Sun Jian, Sun Ce and Sun Quan during the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China.

Cheng Pu served three rulers of the Sun family as General and was famous for his handling of the snake spear. When Sun Jian, the coalition against Dong Zhuo joined and Hua Xiong attack at the ford of the Si River, Cheng Pu covered his flank and allowed him to take the ford and be the first at Tong Gate, before Dong Zhuo's celebrations, to arrive.

Later, Sun Jian launched an attack on Liu Biao, in which Cheng Pu took the offensive. After Sun Jian had fallen and perished in the case of Liu Biao's officer Lu Gong, Cheng Pu avenged him, killing Lu Gong. From now on, he and other veteran generals like Huang Gai Sun Jian's son Sun Ce served.

At the conquest of the Wu Territory Cheng Pu defeated the provincial rulers Liu Yong, Wang Lan and Yan Bai Hu and enabled the capture of General Taishi Ci, who served on the Wu from now.

After the death of Sun Ces Cheng Pu involved in the campaign against Xiakou and helped the general Gan Ning against Huang Zu. When Cao Cao moved south, he Cheng Pu cut off the path and stopped him.

209 he was appointed Grand Administrator of Jiangxia.

Sun Quan appointed him 210 for the Second General under the command of Zhou Yu, to oppose Cao Cao. After Zhou Yu had fallen, Cheng Pu defeated the Wei Cao Ren - General. Later, he helped with the recapture of Jing Province from Liu Bei. At the Battle of Hefei Cheng Pu fought on the front lines and defeated the Wei General Zhang Liao.

213 he launched a campaign against the bandits in Jiangxia where later his grave monument was erected.
