Cherish (Kool & the Gang song)

Cherish is a song by Kool & The Gang of 1985, which was written by the band and was released on the album Emergency.

History

Cherish was first published in May 1985, was a number -one hit in Canada and is often used as a wedding anthem. On the B - side of the song ladies' night is included.

There are different length versions of the song and remixes; the original is 4:45 minutes long. The song begins with a mock on the keyboard intro, in an incident drums. As an effect, beach sounds are recorded.

There is also a remix of the song, which lasts 3:58 minutes and the beach sounds are combined with the acoustic guitar. In addition, you can hear more drums, while JT Taylor sings.

A 12- inch version in which the hit lasts 5:43 minutes, although has the same phrases, but includes played with saxophone passages.

In another 12-inch version, but lasts 4:22 minutes, everything is played with saxophone and is therefore called Saxophone mix.

Furthermore, you could hear the song in the movie 17 Again - Back to High School.

Music Video

At the beginning of the video, the band plays the song on a beach. Then a woman comes out of the water to a little boy and his father, the little boy noticed this. The man goes to the woman and both fall in love with each other, after the encounter they run along the beach. In the chorus you can see several people in the clip and a Ride on a white horse, and later all sit at one table. Again we see the couple alone after they got up there and draws a sketch, while the little boy builds a sand castle. In the evening, all sitting around a campfire, at the end of takes away a cloth and there you can see written in sand: " Cherish the Love".

Cover versions

1997 Cherish was Pappa Bear feat. Van Der Toorn re-recorded and was also successful. Previously Pappa Bear took on a remix of the song. In the video you can see Pappa Bear with two women and Vaan The Toorn in a hotel, the clip was filmed in Miami. Other cover versions followed by:
