Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado is a pickup model of the U.S. car company General Motors. The Silverado also has in current models the typical stylistic features of American pickup trucks in: large cabin with optional second seat, strong engine, open bed and leadframe. The model with second seat ( Double Cab) is both two-and four-door available. The Silverado is the volume model of Chevrolet, the pickup ranks behind the Ford F-Series second place in the registration statistics, in which case the approvals of the nearly identical GMC Sierra are not included.

Silverado (1998-2007)

Silverado (2006-2013)

The new GMT900 Silverado was introduced in 2006. It has a redesigned body and interior and more powerful engines. The heavy-duty variant was launched in 2006 and is no longer offered with the 8.1 L V8 Bigblock. The four-speed automatic is replaced by a more modern six-speed gearbox. Since 2008, he is the U.S. no longer offered with a manual gearbox. Prices start at U.S. $ 22,200 ( € 17,000 ).

The latest generation of the Silverado is offered with three different V8 engines and only with 6- speed automatic ( Make Hydra -Matic or Allison ). The 6.0-liter petrol engine develops depending on the version 322 or 360 hp, the diesel engine with 6.6 liter makes 397 hp. The largest model, the 3500HD 4x4 Dual Rear Wheel Double Cab has a gross vehicle weight of 6077 kg ( 13,400 lbs) and a payload of 2333 kg ( 5,154 lbs), the empty weight is thus 3744 kg.
