Nezahualcóyotl Reservoir

The Chiapas Bridge is a road bridge in the Mexican state of Chiapas. It was opened in December 2003 and spans the Nezahualcóyotl Reservoir, also known as Malpaso, in southern Mexico. The bridge is designed as a girder bridge, wherein said bridge panel and the pillar are made of steel, and the piles of reinforced concrete. During the construction of the incremental launching method came with temporary bracing used. The building is part of the road section between Las Choapas and Ocozocoautla de Espinosa, the extension of the Mexican Highway 180D. This road connects the cities Cosolealecaque and Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The bridge shortens the distance between Mexico City and Chiapas to about 100 kilometers, 3 hours drive.
