Chick Hearn
Francis Dayle " Chick " Hearn ( born November 27, 1916 in Aurora, Illinois; † August 5, 2002 in Northridge, California ) was an American sportscaster. Between 21 November 1965 to 16 December 2001, he commented on 3338 Games of the Los Angeles Lakers in a row before he had to sit a few games after a medical operation.
Hearns image rich linguistic style made him an icon of American commentators landscape. Some of the most recognized basketball phrases are generally attributed to Chick Hearn, such as " slam dunk " and " air ball ".
1986 Hearn received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2003, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
He was buried in the cemetery "Holy Cross Cemetery " in Culver City, California.
