Chikara (professional wrestling)

CHIKARA Pro Wrestling, CHIKARA short, is the name of a U.S. wrestling promotion, which is based in Reading, Pennsylvania.

CHIKARAs shows have a strong influence of the Mexican Lucha Libre, and to a lesser extent by the Japanese Puroresu.

History

On 7 January 2002 CHIKARA was founded by Mike Quackenbush and Reckless Youth under the name The Wrestle Factory. In August 2002 Youth ended his involvement in CHIKARA. Since then passes Quackenbush promotion alone.

2004 was the wrestler Chris Quackenbush Hero of the CZW poach, between 2004 and October 2007, the management of the leagues ' own training center, the CHIKIARA Wrestle Factory took over. As a result, CHIKARA has produced a series shows that are now established in the independent wrestling scene. Also meet regularly Stars from the national and international scene on there.

In October 2007, the Swiss Claudio Castagnoli was hired as head coach. Was initially held only in the United States, began in 2008 a collaboration with the Germany-based promotion Westside Xtreme Wrestling. Mediator of the relationship between the two promotions was Castagnoli, who had one of his wrestling roots in this German doctorate. As a result of this cooperation, two jointly oriented shows were held in November of the same year in Essen.

Just one year later CHIKARA and Big Japan Pro-Wrestling in Tokyo lined up two shows that took place on 12 and 13 June. Although the promotion is now officially considered by the events in Germany and Japan as internationally, they were the only foreign liabilities of the promotion. It organizes since only in a national context, that is, it depends only of their shows in the U.S..

CZW / CHIKARA Wrestle Factory

In 2002, CHIKARA their own wrestling school. In 2004, the CZW wrestler Chris Hero wrestlers head of the "Factory". Since taking over the hero Factory stands in close cooperation with Combat Zone Wrestling. 2005 was renamed the CHIKARA Wrestle Factory in CZW / CHIKARA Wrestle Factory. In October 2007, we introduced the Swiss Claudio Castagnoli as a head coach. The factory is located in Philadelphia today.
