China Camp State Park

China Camp State Park is a California State Park on the western shore of the bay of San Pablo. The state park is named after China Camp Village, a former fishing village of Chinese immigrants.

With the decline in demand for Chinese workers at the end of the California Gold Rush and the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, a number of Chinese migrants had settled on the edge of the bay of San Pablo and moved to the shrimp fishery. By 1880, China was Camp Village is one of many Chinese villages at the edge of the bay and included nearly 500 residents.

In one of the former homes of China Camp Village today is a museum where the history of the Chinese residents of the village can be studied. In 1979, the place on the National Register of Historic Places was recorded.
