The Chinese- European Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy ( CE ICARE, English: China -EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy, Chinese ( simplified):中欧 清洁 与 可 再生 能源 学院) is a teaching and research institute in Wuhan, China, at the University of Science and Technology Central China ( HUST ). It was founded in July 2010. The ICARE is the third Sino- European Institute, which was created in China, according to the China -EU International Business School in Shanghai in 1984 (as China -EC Management Institute ) and the China -EU School of Law in Beijing, founded in 2008. the ICARE project is funded for five years by the EU and the Chinese government.

The establishment of the ICARE follows an agreement that was signed in 2009 by the European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero- Waldner, and the Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade, Gao Hucheng, in the context of Chinese- European cooperation on climate protection and the fight against climate change.

The goal of the organization is to support the Chinese government in the implementation of measures for the reduction of primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions by using renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

ICARE Institute

The ICARE Institute serves as a university teaching facility for students as well as a training center for technical personnel from China. It was founded with the goal of becoming the leading institute for energy efficiency and renewable energy in China. The ICARE is supported by a consortium of higher education institutions, which consists of seven European members in five countries and three Chinese members:

Programs offered

Master for Clean and Renewable Energy

There is a double master program, which consists of the Master of Energy Systems and Energy Science, University of Science and Technology Central China ( HUST ) and the master for Clean and New Energy ParisTech (CARE ).
