Chingo
Chingo 1999
The Volcán Chingo is a symmetrical stratovolcano on the border between Guatemala and El Salvador. It rises about 900 m above the surrounding terrain. The flat summit crater is broken on the west side. Other small stratovolcanoes and cinder cones are located on both sides of the volcano along a major north - south oriented tectonic edge. More young cones lie on the Salvadoran side in the south. On the Guatemalan side of the north is the Volcán las Viboras, a cinder cone with a basaltic peak in the vicinity of Laguna Atescatempo.
